Lauren + Sam's Micro Wedding, Featured in Boston Magazine

Perusing this sweet gallery from Lauren and Sam’s wedding day at their family’s home in Swampscott, you’d have no idea that this wasn’t the original plan…or even the back up plan.

After the COVID-19 pandemic hit the States, this couple cautiously moved their Memorial Day weekend nuptials out to Labor Day. As things with the virus progressed, they postponed the wedding yet again to New Years Eve – but even that date began to feel uncertain. When circumstances finally led them to rescheduling their wedding a third – and final! – time to Labor Day weekend of 2021, instead of feeling relieved, they were disheartened. Their 275 person celebration that they had already spent over two years planning felt further away than ever. That’s when Sam came up with the perfect solution – an intimate wedding with their parents on their original wedding date.

Things fell into place quickly as we coordinated with the original videographer and florist to cover the day, and we turned to the internet to source decor and attire in a world where all physical stores were closed. The result? Lynne Reznick’s gorgeous images of the day speak for themselves. The event overflowed with most meaningful, personal details – from the vows laden with inside jokes to the bespoke signature cocktail for each guests, representing his or her favorite libation. Lauren’s bridesmaids shared a surprise video, her grandmother joined from Florida as the guest of honor via Zoom, and Lauren’s soon-to-be sister-in-law created custom face masks for the bride and groom.

But what just might be our favorite part of the day was during the ceremony – Lauren and Sam honored Renee by asking her to officiate this intimate exchange. As Lauren said, “When somebody plans your big wedding three times and helps you plan your small wedding, they become more than just your wedding planner.” It was such a privilege to be included in this meaningful union!

And you know what else is extra special about this heartfelt micro wedding? We get to relive the magic next year, when Lauren and Sam celebrate their union among all of their friends and family. We can’t wait!

We are honored to see L+S’s gorgeous wedding featured in Boston Magazine.
