Clara and Ray's Dreamy Courtyard Garden Wedding at The Liberty Hotel in Boston, MA

Taking cues from the bride’s French roots, “c’est la fête” (or “it’s a party”) was the inspiration behind this wedding nestled in a beautiful courtyard of downtown Boston. Bringing a sense of European elegance to every detail, the wedding design included a stunning glass tent, twinkling bistro lights, and fresh floral installments at every turn. The result was the perfect late summer celebration set within a garden oasis in the heart of the city.

Clara and Ray met through mutual friends in Boston, and the rest was history. Once Ray knew he’d found “the one,” he began planning a proposal and pulled in Clara’s sister to photograph the big moment. From there, the wedding planning began to take shape as they envisioned a one-of-a-kind celebration with everyone they loved most.

With guests traveling from as far away as France, Clara and Ray wanted a centralized wedding location, and The Liberty Hotel in Boston was an excellent fit. The hotel’s charming courtyard space served as the backdrop to both the ceremony and reception, with a clear-top tent allowing guests to admire the hotel’s impressive architectural details.

As a nod to the transition from summer to fall, the color palette played off the deep olive greenery and bright ivory florals with shades of sage, blush, and burnt coral paired with champagne gold design elements to add depth. A 5-foot hoop draped in cascading smilax served as the focal point of the event, along with lush floral and greenery arrangements placed throughout the space.

The day included so many meaningful moments, from the paper design elements carefully chosen by Clara, a professional graphic designer, to the ceremony officiant, who happened to be Ray’s best childhood friend. No detail went untouched, and each guest was treated to the celebration of a lifetime.
