Adria and Mike's Luxe Wintertime Wedding in Downtown Boston
There’s nothing more romantic than wintertime in the city, and Mike and Adria’s wedding day proves that notion beautifully. They envisioned a December celebration set between Christmas and New Year’s and set out to gather their loved ones for an evening of glamour and elegance in the heart of downtown Boston.
Mike and Adria’s love story first began when their paths first crossed at work. Mike was on an assignment at Adria’s office, and as fate would have it, the two later ran into each again at a bar one night in Salem. After a series of text message mishaps, Mike and Adria officially began dating, and the rest is history. Mike proposed over Christmas week, in front of Adria’s family, and soon their holiday wedding plans began to take shape.
Drawing inspiration from the magic and romance of the season, Adria wanted a wedding style defined as holiday glamour with a just hint of sass. They worked alongside Urban Soirée to plan and design their celebration, including an evening ceremony set in the city’s Italian North End neighborhood at St. Leonard of Port Maurice Parish. Back on their second date Mike had predicted they’d one day get married at St. Leonard’s as they strolled past the church, and sure enough, he was exactly right.
On the wedding day, Mike and Adria’s guests dressed to the nines for an incredible night in the city, with memorable touches from start to finish. The Wild Dahlia brought the couple’s floral design dreams to life, striking the perfect balance of deep burgundy color tones, along with winter berries and candlelight for an utterly romantic mood. Black taper and pillar candles lined the tables, and custom gunmetal die-cut menus added the hint of sass on Adria’s design wishlist.
As the evening events unfolded, Mike, Adria, and all their guests made their way to the iconic Boston Harbor Hotel for a ballroom reception. They were treated to a menu of incredible cuisine, followed by a North End dessert and espresso station as a nod to their families’ Italian roots. After a series of heartfelt toasts from family and friends, everyone headed to the dance floor and took in the ballroom’s breathtaking views of the glittering Boston Harbor.
