Ashley and David’s Fall Wedding Weekend at Halibut Point State Park in Gloucester, MA

I’ll never grow tired of hearing my client’s love stories and it’s couples like Ashley and David who remind me that sometimes the best relationships are worth waiting for. Their story wasn’t a classic love-at-first-sight scenario, but rather a gradual friendship that developed into something much more.

It all began during their time as college roommates who barely spoke to one another in the first several months.  Eventually, the two would grow to become close friends who kept in touch even after Ashley’s move across the country. Despite the 3,000 mile distance, their friendship grew to love, and Ashley returned to Boston to be with David. Finally back in the same city, they made their home in Somerville and decided it was time to tie the knot.

Ashley and David planned a multi-day wedding celebration, beginning with an intimate outdoor ceremony at Halibut Point State Park in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Unfortunately, the weather was determined to shift our plans when a terrible rain storm rolled through. We were all so anxious to see if the weather would pass, and miraculously things cleared up just moments before the ceremony began at sunset! An acoustic guitarist played as they exchanged vows lakeside, surrounded by all their closest loved ones.

The following day, Ashley and David treated their guests to an amazing party at Warehouse XI in Somerville, Massachusetts. The vision was to create a fun cocktail party vibe with a mix of rustic-meets-boho style. Thanks to Kadeema Rentals, we were able to set up lounge areas throughout the space, along with long, wooden farm tables dressed up in autumn blooms. David and Ashley included personal touches throughout, from David’s custom art canvases to the hallway wall displaying a fun timeline of their photos. During the party, they also projected a slideshow of images from their ceremony the day prior, which was such a special moment to share with their guests.

A + D - I couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate your love, and I can’t wait to follow your next adventures as you make the move to Amsterdam!

xo,

Renee
